MCU Stars Reveal James Gunn's Plans in the DCU

 Late last year, the new bosses of DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Safran had announced that they would soon be announcing various new DC Universe projects earlier this year. Now entering early 2023, there's still no sign of what the DC project in question will be. But according to an MCU star who has collaborated with Gunn quite often, like it or not, going forward the studio plans to completely overhaul the DCU.

Before occupying the position as one of the executives at DC Studios, Gunn was actually known first as one of the best directors at Marvel Studios. Where since 2017 he has held one of the MCU's most successful franchises, namely Guardians of the Galaxy, which this year will soon be showing its third film in theaters. Together with Marvel, Gunn admits that he has found a lot of stars that he might invite to DCU in the future, one of which is former WWE player Dave Bautista who is famous for playing Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy team.

Recently, while promoting his new film, Knock At the Cabin with Insider, Dave Bautista revealed that James Gunn's plan is to repeat everything in DCU. “I have spoken to James [Gunn] about it. I think the direction he's going will completely redo his entire universe. He would start all over again, with a younger and fresher one. I think it really needs to be done," he said.

Still in the same interview session, Bautista also revealed that he strongly agreed with Gunn's point of view. He said, “to revive the DC Universe, you have to start all over again. And I think that looks like it's going to need some younger actors. Because the plan is meant to be for the next 15 years.”

Given the close relationship between Bautista and Gunn, it seems that this information can be considered quite valid and can be trusted. Moreover, previously Gunn himself had revealed that he did have plans to work on a Superman reboot film in DCU with a younger character. We'll see later on a more complete announcement, geeks. Because according to rumors Gunn will soon announce plans for a new DCU at the end of January.

Director Leaves, Dune Prequel Filming Postponed
