Ant-Man: Quantummania star turns down Wonder Woman role

A few days ago, we saw the long-awaited film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania aka Ant-Man 3. In this film, we can see the big battle between Ant-Man and Kang the Conqueror in a place called the Quantum Realm. .

As the opening film in phase 5 of the MCU, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania features many old characters such as Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne and Hope Van Dyne. All of these characters are still played by the old cast, namely Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Evangeline Lilly.

For Evangeline Lilly, this will be her fourth film in the MCU. He first appeared in the MCU in the film Ant-Man (2016), and has since appeared in more films. Interestingly, geeks, apart from playing Wasp, it turns out that Evangeline Lilly has turned down an offer to play another female superhero from the DC Universe.

Recently, Evangeline Lilly revealed her reasons for turning down the role of Wonder Woman in a film that was cancelled. Lilly said she once had a meeting with Joss Whedon to discuss the Wonder Woman project. According to Lilly, she had no desire to play the character.

“It (playing Wonder Woman) wasn't very exciting and her encounter (with Joss Whedon) didn't blow me away, or make me think, 'Oh, I have to do this.' I just didn't, like nothing fit. Nothing feels good. If I'm not memorable, you'll know and maybe sometimes you shouldn't. And I think maybe there's a little lesson to be learned." Lilly said.

It should be noted that the film was planned before the release of the Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot, and featured a different story. If Lilly accepts the offer, she may never play Hope Van Dyne aka Wasp in the MCU.

And it's possible that after that, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman movie won't be made. Now Lilly and Gadot have both had their own superhero roles and it suits them perfectly.

The following are films currently showing online in Cinemas
